Panther guard Jacoby Brissett is a gifted athlete who not only plays all five positions on the basketball court but multiple sports as well. Brissett will attend the University of Florida on a football scholarship, and the senior has led this Dwyer basketball team to their 32-1 record. He averaged 15.5 points and 3.1 steals per game.
Fresh off a 5A state championship title, Dwyer comes to this year’s tournament ranked #16 in the ESPN RISE FAB 50. The state title was the third for coach Fred Ross, who was named Coach of the Year by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches. The Panther’s only loss this season came at the hands of Winter Park in the City of Palms Tournament in December. In addition to Brissett, the team also features junior center Joell James (#33 ESPNU Super 60). The left-handed post player is a solid rebounder and is highly ranked amongst centers in the 2012 class.
